Multi-Cheese Making Workshop

Join us for a fantastic multi-cheese making workshop held at the elegant Inn at Lonesome Hollow, located in beautifully rural Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin. Enjoy the company of other cheese making enthusiasts in a small and personal group environment. Visit two local creameries. Enjoy tasting local and homemade cheeses and wines. Learn the craft of making Camembert/Brie, Chevre, Feta, Ricotta and more. Take home your homemade Camembert, Feta and Chevre to finish aging and enjoying in your home.
  • Friday late afternoon/early evening: Taste local and homemade Camembert/Brie, Feta and other cheeses paired with local wines.

  • Saturday: 8am tour of local creamery Mt Sterling Co-op Creamery where you will see the cutting, milling and pressing of the cheese made in the early hours. Hear from the head cheesemaker about their operation.
  • 10am-12pm: Learn the basics of cheesemaking while making Camembert/Brie. Make Ricotta cheese from the whey.
  • 12-1pm: Lunch break.
  • 2pm: Tour of Old Country Cheese, a local creamery.
  • 4-5pm: Chèvre and Feta cheese making.
  • 6pm: Special dinner at Country Gardens, local restaurant where Camembert, Chevre will be used in our menu. This dinner will be informal and inexpensive.
  • Sunday: 9am: Breakfast (for Inn guests only)at the Inn to include cheese in the menu.
  • 10am: Prepare your cheeses you made on Saturday for travel. Salting and unmoulding of Camembert, moulding Chèvre, and preparing Feta blocks for travel.
  • 12noon: Depart the Inn with your homemade cheeses.
What you need to bring to the workshop: Your appetite for cheese and wine and a zest for learning to make gourmet cheese.
What is included in the workshop: All wine and cheese, tools and equipment needed to make your homemade cheeses, Camembert/Brie/Blue Cheese Making eBook Guide, Chevre mould, container to take your cheeses with you.
What is not included in the workshop: Lodging at the Inn and transportation to The Inn, creameries and any restaurants. Meals bought at local restaurants, cheese bought at local creameries.
