Dried Morel Mushrooms
Dried Black Morels: 2 oz: Every season Morel mushrooms fruit after the springs rains in Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Montana and Minnesota. We choose the freshest specimens and dehydrate them slowly over 30 hours to maintain their freshness and flavor. Fresh morels lose 90% of their weight when dried. Thus, one ounce (28g) is equal to 10 oz.(283g) of fresh Morels. Once dried, they will last years. When re-hydrating Morels, pour warm water over them and wait a few minutes to bring them back to their original state. DO NOT allow them to stay in the water too long, as they can become soft and hold too much water. Cook them in a saute pan with a little butter or olive oil for a few minutes. Or you may want to pulverize them while still dry. Add the powder to sauces or soups for maximum flavor.

something in the drying process or maybe its just me,but they just do not taste right.only cooked one batch, maybe the next will be better.
Response from Steve: We dry the morels very slowly over low temperature to preserve the aroma. Hint; to maximize flavor, hydrate in warm water only until the morels are slightly soft, and then fry in browned butter.
