These all natural soft unbleached muslin socks are great for holding LARGE draining curds. Or, better yet use them to wrap around your cheese for pressing in your favorite mould. Easier to use than cheese cloth. Simply place your cheese into the muslin sock and cut off the extra material ends. They can be washed, sanitized and used again. Purchase a larger quantity of 100 bags at great savings by clicking here.
Important Note: the threads are too course to drain ricotta, chevre, yogurt or other fine cheese products. Easy to tie and untie a knot. The small size will hold up to curds from up to one gallon or a bit more of milk. The larger size will hold much more curd.
Sizes: the small sock 5x11in(12.7x28cm) will easily fit over a cheese hooped in our Small Tomme Mould or any cheese up to 2-4 lbs(.9-1.8kg). The large sock (5x28in(12.7x71cm) will easily fit over a cheese hooped in our Large and Extra Large Tomme Moulds or any cheese up to 10-15 lbs(4.5-6.8kg).

I really like them but....

I really like these muslin socks but.... Be careful of loose strings. I have found the unravel a bit, especially after they have been washed. Also, I need to learn a trick about them sticking to the wheels of cheese. Note from Steve/thecheesemaker: I recommend hand washing and air-drying, easier on the material. Leave on the cheese only long enough to 'close the knit', then take off and rinse clean. This will maintain their integrity
