PENICILLIUM CANDIDUM HP 6 10D Packet
One of our most popular Penicillium Candidum strains used for making Camembert and Brie.
Note: This strain is lactose free*, and is can also be used for making Vegan cheeses as well as Dairy cheeses (such as Cashew) Camembert and Brie.
*Vegan / Lactose disclaimer: This product is produced using lactose as a fermentation nutrient.
For those with LACTOSE allergies or sensitivies please be aware that there is a possibility of traces of lactose present.
This means that during the fermentation part of the production process, lactose is fermented out of the final product.
It is not produced in a vegan certified facility.
This culture will ferment Plant Based Milks used for Vegan/ Plant / Nut based cheese fermentation as well as Dairy milks.
PC HP 6 is a strain that is traditional, featuring bright white appearance, moderately rapid growth, and medium-low thickness of the rind.
Home Cheese Making Usage:
- Use 1/32nd-1/16th tsp.for 1-5 gal. of milk
- Available in 10 dose packets; a 10 Dose Packet can be used with approx 100 2-Gallon batches
