One of our most popular Penicillium Candidum strains used for making Camembert and Brie.

Note: This strain is completely dairy free, and is can also be used for making Vegan cheeses as well as Dairy cheeses (such as Cashew)  Camembert and Brie.

No animal products were used in the production or included as an ingredient in this product.

PC HP 6 is a strain that is traditional, featuring bright white appearance, moderately rapid growth, and medium-low thickness of the rind.


Home Cheese Making Usage:

  • Use 1/32nd-1/16th tsp.for 1-5 gal. of milk 
  • Available in 10 dose packets; a 10 Dose Packet can be used with approx 100 2-Gallon batches


  • Kosher certified

    I have nothing to compare this product to but have used it for vegan cashew cultured cheese with fantastic results. Used some in the cashew mixture when culturing and some on the outside of a cheese round. It provides a slight peppery taste that becomes stronger as the cheese ages. Very good overall!

    The only online U.S. retailer I could find that has a vegan strain. Only needed a small dash to make two cashew cheese wheels. Love watching the mold grow!

    So relieved to find a US vegan culture supplier. My order arrived promptly and with instructions on storage and preserving contents after opening. The mold grew very quickly on my cheese wheel. Excellent product and service.

    This product does its job. I am getting a nice outside white layer on my cheese. It has been growing almost two weeks now and should soon be going to the refrigerator to age. Very pleased so far.
