Mesophilic Culture MM100-101

Make your own Camembert, brie, blue, mozzarella, chevre, feta, fromage blanc using this mesophillic starter.

About This Product

In several different cheese recipes, mesophilic culture is a crucial ingredient. Mozzarella, camembert, brie, chevre, blue, feta and fromage blanc are all cheeses that require the MM100-101 culture. Most of these cheeses are relatively popular cheeses, particularly mozzarella. In fact, mozzarella cheese is one of the best cheeses for beginners to try their hands at.

A mesophilic starter culture is a cultured product from a low temperature. Think of yogurt or buttermilk when you think of low-temperature cultured products. When it comes to your culture, you have to be sure that you are getting a good tasting culture. If the culture is off, then your cheese is going to be off too. When you need a mesophilic starter series, this kit has everything that you need to get started on your cheese-making journey.

There is nothing quite like homemade cheese. If you love store bought, commercial cheese, then you’re going to fall in love with homemade cheese. You can adjust it to your taste and discover that it tastes even better when it is fresh.

The packet sizes come in three different options: 50, 125 and 250. In order to make sure your cheese comes out correctly, make sure to follow the directions exactly. While you may be able to get away with some substitutions, it is important to keep measurements similar. Following the directions always leads to better tasting cheese.

Hello Steve - To review the starters they are fine (so far I have only used one of them). What I really want to say is that your service has amazing delivery speed! I just ordered and bingo it was there on Monday! I live in a rural area on the north CA coast so I think you have secret elves who do magic delivery tricks! Thanks as always - Cheers to you and your family. Judy C

With this culture even I can make a great "farmhouse Cheddar". my cow gives more than 3 gallons each day so I make a lot of cheese and I always use this culture.
