About This Product

Penicillium Roqueforti PRB6 is a Vegan strain and in a liquid form. 

50 Gallon Bottle w Dropper  (approx 80 drops / 5 ml)

PRB6 Strain is a liquid form of Penicillium Roqueforti that has a blue-green color, grows fast and a strong blue flavor. 

PRB6 can be used to make 'regular' Milk Based Blue Cheeses, or it can be used in Vegan Cheese making to make 'Cashew' or other Nut Based Blue Cheeses.

Follow the steps of regular cheese making to make blue cheese but add in one crucial step to the process: needling.

Pierce the cheese to introduce air which will create the famous blue veins. 


Usage levels:



Use 1/32 tsp. for one gallon of milk  (use one drop per gallon of milk)

For commercial usage, use large 5D /  250 Gallon Size


Spec Sheet PRB6  (Vegan strain; great for Dairy / Milk Blue cheeses as well as Non-Dairy Blue cheeses such as those made from Cashews)

Storage / Best Before Date:   Store in Freezer;  allow to come to room temp before using.  Shake well before using.

If stored in freezer product will remain viable long past 'Best Before' date

    This stuff works!!! Do yourself a favor, my fellow vegans, and make your own blue cheese. It is surprisingly easy--all you really need to do is wait for the culture to do its thing. In my experience, this one and the vegan camembert cultures work reliably but it took slightly more time than the packaging indicated to see the mold grow--don't give up!
