About This Product

Make your own Greek Style yogurt at home using Yo-Mix 2651 culture. This special yogurt culture contains an extra bacteria strain, Bifidobacterium lactis Lactobacillus casei, which adds to its high quality probiotic quality.
This culture produces a wonderful yogurt product. Can be used with nut milks. Available in two smaller size for hobbyist use and a 750 dcu bottle for commercial use.
 
Available in three sizes :  20 Batch Envelope;  50 gallon bottle or 100 gallon bottle
Envelope:  Makes 20 batches of 1/2 Gallon each
Size 1: small bottle: Can be used with 50 gal milk. 
Size 2: large bottle: Can be used with 100 gal milk.
 
 
Usage rate:
Industry:10-20 DCU for 26.5 (100 liters) of milk. 
Hobbyist: 1/16 tsp for 1/2 gallon milk, 1/8 tsp for 1-2 gallons milk, 1/4 tsp for 3-5 gallons of milk.

  • Streptococcus thermophilus
  • Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus 
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Bifidobacterium lactis Lactobacillus casei

Heat your milk to 180-185f (82-85c), then cool to inoculation temperature. Usually your yogurt will taste nominal in 4-8 hours.
 
To make real Greek Yogurt, strain the yogurt!

    Husband said this is the best yogurt he ever had. I agree, it’s worth the little effort it takes to make. I used whole milk and added scraped vanilla bean. Definitely going to continue making this.

    For the first time in my 40+ years of raising French Alpine dairy goats , I have thick, sweet goat yogurt!!! Even thick creamy Greek style yogurt from their low butterfat 2-2.5% fat milk! So easy: milk goats, strain, heat to scalding, cool to 110-115F, add culture, stir and keep warm 24 hours. Try this culture; once you make your own yogurt you’ll never buy the expensive sugar laden added additives commercial yogurt ever again,.
