Replacement cheese press spring is designed to use with our spring-loaded presses. It is custom made of stainless steel to our specs. When compressed 50% approximately 50 lbs. of weight is being applied. Includes stainless steel washer. Spring size; width 7/8 in(22.2mm), height 1 5/8 inch(41.2mm).

My homemade set up basically consists of two boards two long bolts and a mold. I put a tin can on top of the mold lid and the spring between lid and board and it work great! :)

This spring does an excellent job of allowing me to gauge the pressure on the cheese. The price is right as well.
I am making a cheese press and the springs were just what I needed. My problem was in how to calibrate the pressure of the spring. I am guessing right now, but would appreciate any suggestions on calibration. But the springs and the delivery time was great. Thanks. From thecheesemaker.com: We had the springs calibrated by the mfg so that if the spring is 50% compressed, it is applying approximately 50 lbs of weight.
